There is one thing that almost all parents have in common. I
would simply call it the phenomenon of sweetness. Meaning: their baby is T.H.E
cutest, prettiest, sweetest among all those other ones.
Truth is, there actually are little ones out there that look
a bit weird with very special head shapes or simply because their way into this
world was a bit hard which is still written on their faces.
Truth also is: parents seem to have a certain hormone that
is activated the moment they hold their own little baby for the first time (and
every other following time). And this hormone makes you see your baby in a
different light and apparently not compareable to any other baby out there.
(which is good, because cleraly having a baby and the baby himself/herlself
should be protected from our cruel world where everything seems tob e compared
with hard facts).
Believe me, I met a lot of incredibly cute babies and yet
none of them ever reached Smilla’s cuteness (in my point of view certainly). So
I came to asked myself what there really is about that phenomenon of sweetness.
My being-a-mam thaught me it.
The maths behind it is surprisingly if not frighteningly simple.
It’s about endurance and about keeping your head cool in heated up situations.
Smilla’s new nickname is simple but it couldn’t fit better: Terror Bambi. (More
about this in upcoming posts).
She is the sweetest little thing and at the same time can
freak you out so much (some times). This is where nature comes in. By thinking
your baby is the cutest creature on earth it is indeed more easy to stay calm
in those (sometimes stressful) situations where you might loose the calm track
if it wasn’t for the phenomenon of sweetness.
Isn’t Smilla just he cutest....?! See. That’s just what I am saying. I am suffering by
love-parental infection that simply can’t be cured. And I believe it is
supposed to be like that.
Ganz egal ob ihr selbst schon Eltern seid oder ob ihr
einfach immer mal wieder umgebend seid von diesen kleinen Fabelwesen, euch wird
sicher (ganz neutral betrachtet natürlich) eins aufgefallen sein: manche sind
süß, andere eher nicht. Speckfalten, unförmige Köpfchen, Dellen an den
Beinchen. Irgendwie ja niedlich. Wenn ihr mich fragt sollte man die kleinen
beschützen vor unserer harten Welt in der sich viel zu früh alles nur um
schöner/besser/schöner/besser dreht und man unbewusst direkt vergleicht. Was
mir mein Mama-Sein aber gelehrt hat ist: es gibt es wirklich, diese
Süßheits-Hormon. Und sein Zweck ist erschreckend simple. Es wurde von Mutter
Natur erfunden um Mutter X vor sämtlichen Strapazen hervorgerufen durch Baby Y
zu schützen. Denn glaubt mir, es gibt diese Momente, an manchen Tagen unzählige,
in denen die Nerven blank liegen und das einzige was wirkliche Abhilfe schafft
dieser Anblick ist. Die kleinen Füße, diese Äuglein... Smilla ist seit neuestem nur noch unter dem Rufnamen
Terrorbambi anzusprechen. Dazu mehr im nächsten Post.
Die Mathematik hinter all dem ist einfach. Zu einfach. Sie
sind so unheimlich süß und niedlich, damit wir ihnen einfach nichts übel nehmen
können. Damit wir (Mamas und Papas
dieser Welt) die Ruhe bewahren wenn wir den Schnuller am liebsten gehörige vom
Balkon herunter werfen würden. Oder den Plüschhasen. Okay genug. Ich werde
Smilla jetzt wieder beim Sein zu sehen, oder wie ich es sehe: beim Süß-Sein.
Wisst ihr nun was ich meine..?! Ich denke sie ist unheilbar, diese „Krankheit“,
