They did it! We did it! Again. Since most of you know that my lovely man Peter and me got married last July, while I was 7 months pregnant and 'decorated' with a H.U.G.E. belly, I made it pretty clear that there has to be another party, another ' I Do' and obviously another dress without that belly…
So here is what we did. We saved the date, same one as last year, July 18th but tripled the number of guests, the amount of food and the bottles of whatever you can imagine. Our goal was to have a memorable wedding that would NOT leave us completely broke. Sounds damn simple in theory, is pretty hard in practice. It is just not exactly the easiest thing to do if you consider being a young family with a baby and only one person working full time at the moment... Plus enormous expectations for that day - coming not only from me but especially from Peter.
So I can imagine that there are some among us that dream big/white/fancy/enormous/magical/memorable/special/... of that day. Same here, believe me. It is a thing you do once in your life. Getting married, say ' I do'. I would like to share my personal BIG day with all its moments with you while providing some money-saving-no-more-being-broke hints, so you will have the possibility to truly enjoy this precious day with anything but money issues.
Simplicity. Wedding Prep Part I aka ' So called decoration'.
What most men don't really get about decoration is the decoration. What most women know is: it's essential. I got my girls together to create our decoration, since it's the most cheap but unique way.
So here is what we did...
I. Turn old and empty yoghurt glasses into vases and candle holders.
II. Paint some old fruit boxes in your favorite color and use them for anything
III. Homemade jam as guest-give aways, so simple but so sweet. And best thing is, not expensive at all!
IV. Leave little notes for your guest. Tell them to share each and every picture and impression they took and made on Instagram with your special hashtag.
